Walnut Slices
This recipe appeared in the "First Lady Cookbook" with a credit to Mrs Otis Waters, wife the Mayor Richey, Montana. In bold letters is the notation, "she got this recipe from me!."
Bottom Layer:
1 cup flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter
Mix like pie crust and press into 8-Inch pan.
Top Layer:
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs (Well beaten)
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup wulnuts
1 cup coconut
2 tablespoons flour
Mix and bake at 350 degrees until done.
cut after cooling a short time. Double recipe for regular size cake pan.
Sugar Cookies
"From Aunt Dora - Very Good."
1 cup powdered sugar
1 cup margarine
1 egg
1 teaspoon falvoring - almond or vanilla
1/2 teaspoon cream of tarter
pinch of salt
2 cups flour
Drop by teaspoon on cookie sheet.
Flatten slightly.
Bake at 350 until slightly browned at the edge.
